24th édition du Challenge Inter-Banques – Trophée ERI

 

A dozen teams from the banking and financial sector in Monaco and Nice responded to the invitation from the Yacht Club de Monaco for the 24th edition of this popular regatta.

The teams, all amateurs, are sailing on J/70s made available free of charge by the YCM and members of the Monaco J/70 Class Association. For the first day, they completed a 7 nautical mile onshore race between the Principality and Eze.

Leading the fleet today was CFM who were well ahead of Julius Baer and Barclays, although the title holder, BNP Paribas, has yet to have the last word.

After a gala dinner this evening they will back at the Club tomorrow at 10.30am for a briefing and brunch before a series of races on a windward-leeward course begins at 1.00pm in Hercules Bay.

 

Provisional programme for tomorrow (subject to change):

Sunday 3rd July:
– 10.30am: Briefing
– 11.00am: Brunch (competitors only)
– 1.00pm: Start of first race
– 5.30pm: Prize-giving
