26th Challenge Inter-Banques – Trophée ERI

Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2018

Organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco under the aegis of AMAF (Association Monégasque des Activités Financières) and co-sponsored by financial software leader, ERI, Challenge Inter-Banques – Trophée ERI is open to anyone working in the finance sector in Monaco.

Nine crews from banking and finance companies were attracted out on the water for a weekend where the focus for this event is always on team building. It is an excellent opportunity for companies to boost team spirit through unifying values at the heart of sailing.

Team spirit order of the day

Sailing on J/70s, made available by owners in the J/70 Monaco Class Association, participants enjoyed superb conditions throughout the weekend. Summer temperatures contributed to the success of the meeting that started Saturday with an inshore race from Monaco to Mala beach, Cap d’Ail, followed by lunch by the sea before racing back to Monaco and the YCM.

Both races were led successively by CGM Azimut then Credit Suisse Genève, and with the top three in the provisional ranking tied equal on points the suspense level was high on Saturday evening.

On Sunday, they upped the pace with four races in Monaco Bay in a lovely 10-knot easterly, enough to satisfy participants who pulled out all the stops. Credit Suisse Genève came out on top with CGM Azimut 3rd in the final rankings, and BNP Paribas Wealth Management in 2nd.

For Credit Suisse Genève it was their second victory in a row at this event. Once again, another fun weekend of friendly competition and team building: a winning formula for the last 26 years.
