On the second day of racing, Father Christmas dropped in on the Yacht Club de Monaco, much to the delight of the children of YCM members, bringing with him sunshine and humour – only the wind failed to turn up.

Just one race made the cut today and that was for the Melges 20 with victory going to the Russian Dmitry Samokhin who pipped Monegasque Guido Miani (Out of Reach) to the post. However, the Monegasque now takes over the lead in the provisional overall ranking, three points in front of Alexandr Ezhkov (Pirogovo).
