ETYC introduces “ETYC Training”, the very first environmental training course for Yacht crews

Winner of the second prize of the StartUp Week-End Monaco 2019, AWARE who became ETYC specializes in training for responsible practices in regards to the environment. This program is called ETYC Training, which stands for “Environmental Training for Yacht Crew”. Its objective is to raise awareness of environmental issues among yacht crews and provide them with concrete solutions to significantly reduce the impact of yachting on the marine environment.

In fact, the fight against the pollution of the oceans is one of the most important challenge of our time and of the years to come. Every actor of the yachting industry must play their part: use of consumables, environmental regulations, recycling difficulties, waste management, and behaviour change. Because if for several years architects and builders have succeeded in finding technological solutions to make yachts less polluting and more efficient, the behaviour of crews on board has not changed much.

How can these objectives be reconciled with the high quality service requirements of luxury yachting? Moreover, with the imperative of a reasonable management of time and resources on board?

These are some of the themes that the ETYC Training program addresses, which aims to set up Environmental Management Systems (EMS) that meet the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard and to develop proposals to improve the environmental performance of any organization.

The ETYC Training program provides an essential training for yacht crews so that everyone, as a responsible actor, can participate in the protection of the oceans, thus contributing to the pleasure of sailing in clear waters, with preserved fauna and flora.
