27th Challenge Inter-Banques – Trophée ERI

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June 2019

To celebrate 30 years of ERI, the world leader in financial software packages, key players in Monaco’s banking sector turned out in force for the Challenge Inter-Banques-Trophée ERI organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco under the patronage of Monaco for Finance (AMAF – Association Monégasque des Activités Financières).

For the 2019 edition, 40 employees divided into eight teams represented their respective establishments for a weekend of friendly competition on the sea.

Team spirit as leitmotiv

Reserved exclusively for banks and financial institutions, the event is a great way to reinforce that all important team spirit. Two days of racing on J/70s, made available free of charge by boat owners in the J/70 Monaco Class Association, were on the programme this weekend. A friendly yet often challenging competition involving lunch on Saturday at Anjuna Beach and a brunch on the Sunday at the YCM, every year it attracts amateur sailors delighted to be out on the water with colleagues.

Société Générale on top step of the podium

A consistent performance by Marco Ardigo’s crew (Credit Suisse) with two 2nd places was not enough. Having won the first race and clinched a convincing 3rd in the second, the trio of Société Générale ladies succeeded in taking the title off Credit Suisse, which had won the event for the last two years.

Julius Baer completed the podium. Note that their team included two young sailors from the YCM’s Sports Section, Jeremy Moutout and Juan Casalone, who are currently working at the Swiss institution.

Another great weekend of pulling together as a team with a goal in mind, while having fun on the water, which is what sailing is all about. A date has already been set for next year!
