Malizia II tackles new Mediterranean record

Mediterranean record – Marseille – Carthage

At 19h01’39” today, Boris Herrmann accompanied by Milena Schoenahl, Mike Yates and Shane Diviney launched their bid to beat a Mediterranean record aboard Malizia II.

A first for the Monegasque 60-footer which aims to cover the 455 nautical miles from Marseille to Carthage in Tunisia under the time set in 1998 by Giovanni Agnelli on a mono-hull (Stealth) of 1 day 5 hours 2 minutes 6 seconds.

This is not the first time Malizia II has taken on such a challenge since her arrival in June 2017, as the IMOCA led by YCM Vice-President Pierre Casiraghi set a reference time for a 60-footer of 4 hours 30 minutes for the Monaco-Calvi (Corsica) crossing.
