28th and 29th January 2016 – 2.00pm to 7.00pm – Access Quai Louis II


Within the framework of the “Monaco Capital of Yachting” project, the Yacht Club de Monaco has set up a new training centre: “La Belle Classe Academy”, for its members, sailors & professionals in the yachting industry.

On the agenda for these two days at the YCM:
Presentation of the training courses available for 2016.


1- Navigation Techniques (for professionals only)

Gilles Dray, La Belle Classe Academy instructor, will introduce the content of future sessions (ECDIS, ISM…), including yacht navigation scenarios using a simulator:

  • Navigation areas
    Strait of Messina passage
    Entering the Brest bottleneck
    Dover-Calais crossing
  • Under varying conditions
    Navigating in reduced visibility
    Navigating at sea and in strong winds
    Navigating at night
  • And in emergency situations
    Plane / helicopter


2- International Protocol & Etiquette (for crew professionals, house staff)

This Master program of 5 days alternates theory and practical sessions in the Yacht Club de Monaco or on board / at home. Held in English, this course focuses on perfecting luxury details, etiquette & protocol explained for every culture around an art de vivre lifestyle.
