The Lady Anne leads the way

Wall to wall sunshine since the start of Les Voiles joined forces with the sea to produce a southerly airflow greatly appreciated by all and perfect for racing, as evidenced by the tight grouping of the four 15M IRs doing battle for their 2016 championship title.

Mid-way through the week in Saint-Tropez and after three races The Lady Anne, the youngest of the Fife designs (1912) leads the way just one small point ahead of Mariska (1908) at the head of the overall ranking. Tuiga (1909), having won today’s race, leaves Hispania (1909) last.

Tomorrow, Thursday, Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez celebrates the spirit of the original challenge between Ikra and Pride that led to the Nioulargue. This is the day competitors are invited to challenge similar rigged boats to duels which have nothing to do with the end of week results for the sheer pleasure of racing neck and neck. The 15M IRs will be taking the opportunity to continue their contest with three courses lined up in the Gulf between Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez.
