24th Challenge Inter-Banques – Trophée ERIe ERI

Organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco, with support from ERI and under the patronage of AMAF (Association Monégasque des Activités Financières), the 24th Challenge Inter-Banques – Trophée ERI attracted a dozen banks and financial institutions from Monaco and the Côte d’Azur. It’s a rare opportunity for professionals to get together every year over a weekend with their counterparts and ERI, publisher of the OLYMPIC Banking System software solution.

For a weekend in summer sport and social events come together for the teams, with a short inshore race on the Saturday and a regatta in Monaco’s bay on the Sunday, sailing on J/70 boats made available free of charge by the YCM and members of the J/70 Monaco Class Association. The weekend is special as it is reserved exclusively for sailing enthusiasts from banking and financial companies, who also benefit freely from the YCM Sports Section’s facilities to discover the J/70 and get some training in on the boats in the weeks leading up to the event.

Having already won the onshore race between Monaco and Cap d’Ail (where the traditional lunch at La Mala beach is organised) the crew on CFM Indosuez were the overall winners of the weekend, having clinched 3rd place in the regatta on Sunday.

Barclays, a regular of the Challenge and the most consistent over the two days came 2nd overall ahead of GFG Monaco. A newcomer to the Challenge, this financial group created the surprise of the event by winning the last race.

All are set for the 25th edition next year and a quarter century celebration!
